Ludotecas project was a children education development program designed by Dr. Cristina Pisani, and the Social Development Secretary of the Municipality of Rosario, Argentina.
It targeted the most vulnerable infancies in the least served neibourhoods in the city. At the time I worked with the team, 2006/2009, many areas around town lacked primary services, schools were unprepared to deal with structural social difficulties and used to receive children in two turns every day, from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. That kind of organizaztion left many children whose mothers worked all day alone in the streets or with elder and younger siblings without adult company.
Ludotecas aimed to those children, to give them a cozy, warm, friendly place to stay during mornings or afternoons, do homework if they liked or make new friends, play quietly or loudly, talk to a carer adult or simply relax ready a comic magazine.
Here, you’ll find sections: the Grand Presentation of the Program, Simple toys I developed for the ludotecas, the Ludotecas and some material I created to provide the program with an aesthetic identity to apply for funding among other objectives we had.
